Man on Motorcycle Dies in Hit and Run

Los Angeles: A motorcycle rider died Saturday in Sylmar when he collided with a truck on Foothill Boulevard.

On Saturday, May 21, 2005 at about 1:10 a.m., Leonardo Ayala, a male Hispanic, was riding a 2004 Yamaha Motorcycle and traveling northbound on Foothill Boulevard when he collided with a grey 1987 Mazda pick-up truck that was exiting a parking lot at the northwest corner of Foothill Boulevard and Astoria Avenue.

The driver and passenger of the truck, both male Hispanic, ran from the scene without identifying themselves. The driver of the truck is further described as being 20-25 years-old, standing 5'5"-5'6" tall and weighing 130-150 pounds.

Mr. Ayala, a 27 year-old resident of Sylmar, died at the scene.
