Stabbing Victim Found on Sidewalk

Los Angeles: Police are looking for clues in the stabbing death of 44-year-old Ernest Ortiz, who was stabbed in downtown Los Angeles yesterday evening.

At about 5:30 p.m., Alhambra police officers, who were driving through downtown, discovered the victim near a bus stop in the 600 block of Crocker Street.

According to unidentified witnesses, Ortiz was seen running westbound on 6th Street from Towne Avenue just before he collapsed on the sidewalk.

The motive of the stabbing is undetermined, and police have few leads.
