Los Angeles Police Department Celebrates Mother's Day
What:
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) celebrates Mother’s Day by offering an inside look at dedicated mothers who are also law enforcement professionals.
When:
Sunday, May 11, 2008
Starting at 6 a.m.
Where:
Central Area Rampart Area
251 East 6th Street & 2701 West Temple Street
Los Angeles Los Angeles
Who:
Rampart Division Police Officer Astrid Limus
Central Division Police Officer Blanca Desormaux
Why:
This Sunday, the LAPD joins the public in celebrating Mother’s Day. Many of our officers will enjoy this welcomed day and spend quality time with their respective families.
However, the demands of law enforcement professions preclude many officers from sharing this day with their families. Many of these officers are caring, nurturing mothers who daily face the challenges of balancing their personal and professional lives.
We invite you to meet with two dedicated officers who represent many of the moms who are LAPD officers, and share their challenging experiences. Officer Astrid Limus will be on hand at Rampart Station and Officer Blanca Desormaux will be working Central Station.
