Shooting Follows Night of Karaoke

Los Angeles: Two men were shot early Monday morning in the parking lot of a Karaoke club.

On Monday, May 26, 2008, at about 3:40 a.m., a group of patrons leaving a Karaoke club located near Crenshaw Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard became involved in a dispute in a parking lot to the rear of the club. What began as a verbal dispute quickly escalated to a physical fight that involved a group of men who had been inside the club.

One of the suspects, described only as a male Korean, in his late teens or early twenties, pulled a handgun and fired multiple rounds, hitting two victims, one of them multiple times. The suspect left in a late model, gray or silver, vehicle with several other male Koreans.

Both victims, also of Korean decent, were transported to a local hospital and were listed in stable condition. There identities are not being released.

Detectives believe there were a large number of people in the parking lot when the shooting occurred and they would like to speak with anyone who may have information related to this case. Witnesses may remain anonymous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wilshire Area Homicide Detective Frank Carrillo at 213-473-0446. During off-hours or on weekends, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
