Chief Bratton Runs Alongside the Sunshine Kids at the Los Angeles Marathon NA09136kr

Why:
Providing vital support for children battling cancer, The Sunshine Kids instills inspiration and hope to families all over the United States, including those right here in Los Angeles. This year, 26 children will be participating in the marathon by running a one mile segment of the race. But they will not be running alone. Accompanying each child will be an extensive support group, including police officers, Department command staff, and area volunteers.
The Sunshine Kids will finish the race with an emotional and inspiring last mile when all of the children and their supporters will advance to the finish line, joined by LAPD Chief and Mrs. Bratton at around 1:00 p.m. near 6th Street and Flower Street.
The race with be followed by a barbecue and awards ceremony held in parking lot behind Parker Center. Media is asked to park on Judge John Aiso Street.
