Fatal Hit-and-Run NR10259ne

Los Angeles:   The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is requesting the public’s help to identify and locate the suspect responsible for a hit-and-run traffic accident that caused the death of 33-year-old Eugene Jackson, a resident of Los Angeles.

On May 15, 2010, at around 1:30 a.m., a motorist driving a 2004, Silver Dodge Durango Sports Utility Vehicle was traveling southbound on Figueroa Street at 135th Street when it failed to stop for a red traffic signal.  The SUV collided into a 2009, Nissan Altima that was traveling eastbound on 135th Street at Figueroa.  The driver and the passengers of the SUV exited their vehicle and fled the scene without rendering aid or indentifying themselves.  The driver and the passengers are described as Hispanics, 2 males and 1 female.

The victim Eugene Jackson was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
