Man Shot at a Party in South Los Angeles NR10290bb

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Criminal Gang Homicide Detectives are asking the public to provide information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect wanted for killing 21-year-old Christopher Galloway.

On May 31, 2010, at around 12:37 a.m., Galloway was attending a party in the 1800 block of West 74th Street when two suspects walked up to Galloway and demanded entry in the party.  When Galloway asked how they were invited, one of them pulled a gun, claimed a gang affiliation and shot Galloway.  The suspects ran from the location heading west on 74th Street, then north on St. Andrews Place.  The suspects are described as male Blacks, 18 to 20 years of age.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Galloway to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.  Galloway does not have any gang ties.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Criminal Gang Homicide Division Detectives Mun or Mendoza at 213-485-1383.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.   Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
