Jewelry Store Thief Caught On Camera NR12211gb

Los Angeles.  Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Olympic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a jewelry store theft caught on surveillance video at a jewelry shop in Koreatown.  

On April 16, 2012, around 3:10 p.m., a male Korean suspect entered a jewelry store in a shopping mall in the 3500 block of West 6th Street in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles.  The suspect entered the shop, posing as a customer and remained inside the store over one hour and thirty minutes, looking at various high-end jewelry. One of the store clerks showed the suspect the jewelry, the suspect grabbed the jewelry and ran outside with two diamond rings, a total value of $13,000.00.  The suspect exited through the rear of the shopping mall and fled on foot in an unknown direction.  The suspect’s image was captured on the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).

The suspect is described as a male Korean, 18 to 20 years old with black hair. He stands about six feet one inch tall and has a slim build.
