WHAT: May 1st March and Rally for Immigrants

WHEN: Monday, May 1, 2017 8 a.m.

WHERE: Central Bureau/Downtown Los Angeles

WHO: The incident Commander for the Department will be Deputy Chief Robert Arcos, Commanding Officer, Operations-Central Bureau

WHY: To identify Media Staging Areas, Media Viewing Areas, and to identify street closures as defined by the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation.

1./2. Organizer: Full Rights / Answer LA March Start Location: Olympic and Broadway End Location: Temple / Broadway Assembly Time: 1000 March Time: 1200

Media Staging/Media Viewing Area: The media staging/viewing area for the assembly is the Northeast Corner of Olympic Blvd. and S. Broadway. Media parking has been dedicated on North Main Street.

3. Organizer: Hermandad March Start Location: Olympic Boulevard and Broadway End Location: Temple / Broadway (Possible walk North on Main Street) Assembly Time: 0830 March Time: 1000 Rally Time: 1100

4. Organizer: LA County Federation of Labor March Start Location: Wilshire Boulevard and Alvarado Street End Location: Grand Park (East to stage Spring Street steps) Assembly Time: 1000 March Time: 1200

5. Organizer: Boyle Heights March Start Location: Evergreen Avenue / Cesar E. Chavez Avenue End Location: Mariachi Plaza Assembly Time: 1430 End Time: 1800

PIOs will be staged at the start location and end location to monitor the media throughout the event. Additionally, PIOs will be staged along the demonstration route to monitor any media crews that stop outside the staging areas. PIOs will be deployed as needed in areas that media issues arise.

Additional stationary rally’s areas: PIO’s will make periodic assessments of all media staging areas, and will make notifications via social media platforms.
