Sylmar Woman Murdered by Son

Los Angeles: A Sylmar man has been arrested for the murder of his elderly mother.

On Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Mission Area police responded to a radio call at a residence in the 12400 block of Bradley Avenue, in Sylmar. When officers arrived, they found Betty Louise Rock, 83-yeara-old, lying in her driveway. Ms. Rock had suffered severe head trauma. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics.

The victim's son, Dale Allen Rock, 43 years, was arrested for murder and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
