Elderly Man Killed by Hit and Run Driver

Los Angeles: An elderly man was fatally struck in Mission Hills. On Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at approximately 12:15 AM, the victim, 83-year-old Hyun-Jong Jung of North Hills, was crossing Laurel Canyon Boulevard at Maclay Street when he was struck by a hit and run vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
The hit and run vehicle was described as a 2003-2005 Chevy Monte Carlo, 2-door, black in color. The driver of the Chevy failed to stop and sped away. Mr. Jung was transported to an area trauma center where he died as a result of blunt force head trauma and multiple fractures.
The driver was described as a male Hispanic with shaved head, 18-25 years of age. He is wanted for felony Hit and Run as well as Vehicular Manslaughter.
