LAPD “Just Say No” Campaign Rally at Primary Academy for Success School

WHO:
LAPD Baseball Team Members LAPD Foothill Area Officers 300 students, teachers, and staff

WHY:
This event is presented to Primary Academy School as an acknowledgement of their efforts in adopting our “Just Say No” Pledge Campaign at their school. 300 students have written pledges about the importance of saying no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying. School staff member Susana Bustamante brought the program to the school and has had several students recite the pledge in her office daily. This rally is a positive way to help the students interact with police officers and community mentors whose mission is to positively impact the lives of our youth.

DETAILS:
1:00- Discussions w/ students about the importance of saying no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying. 1:15- All students recite LAPD Baseball Team’s “Just Say No” pledge. 1:20 – Contests (Hoola hoop contests, dance move contests, rap contest, and drawings for great prizes) *Prize drawings will continue until event ends. 1:50- LAPD Officers Scott and Thompson perform their Just Say No rap song *LAPD Helicopter Fly Over will take place during the event
