Shooting Victim Dies at Hospital NR18248ti

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for killing a man.

On September 28, 2018, at around 8:20 p.m., Mission Area Patrol officers received a radio call near the area of San Fernando Road and Bleeker Street. Officers arrived and located a victim on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Operation Valley Bureau Homicide was contacted and assumed responsibilities of the investigation. The investigation revealed that the victim was at a motel with friends, when the suspect appeared. The suspect and the victim were involved in an argument that resulted in the suspect shooting the victim in the upper torso. The suspect fled in an unknown vehicle.

Victim has been identified as 39-year-old Jimmy Marquez who was a resident of the City of Sylmar.

The Suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 30’s, no further description. He was driving a dark vehicle.
