Male Nurse Suspected of Molesting Patients

Los Angeles: Los Angeles detectives are asking for the public's help identifying additional victims who may have been molested by a certified nurse's assistant at a San Fernando Valley Hospital.

"We have reason to believe there may be other victims who have not come forward," said Detective Ninette Toosbuy of the West Valley Police Station. "We're making the suspect's picture public with the expectation there are other victims. We'd like any one with information to call us."

The investigation began when a 29-year-old woman reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted at the Tarzana Hospital on April 7, 2006. Detective Toosbuy identified Ramon Eduardo Rodas Gaspar, 37, as a possible suspect.

Over the course of the investigation, Toosbuy found two more victims, one from January 2005, and another from April 2006. The victim's ages ranged from 29 years to 64 years old. All three were recovering from surgery in their hospital rooms when Gaspar allegedly assaulted them.

Faced with a warrant for his arrest, Gaspar surrendered himself with his lawyer to a judge at the Van Nuys courthouse on June 15, 2006. He has been charged with three felony counts of sexual assault.

Tarzana Hospital is located at 18321 Clark Street, Los Angeles.

Gaspar has worked at the hospital since 2004.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Toosbuy at 818-374-7794. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
