Gang Shooting Claims Life of 18-Year-Old
Los Angeles: An 18-year-old male was shot and killed in broad daylight as he was standing with a 20-year-old friend on July 27, 2006.
The shooting occurred just after 4:00 PM when the victim and his friend were near the 6800 block of Hoover Street. Witnesses described a Black man, got out of a burgundy Chevrolet Camaro and chased the two and fired numerous rounds, striking the victim multiple times. The friend escaped gunshots by diving under a parked vehicle. The victim later died at California Hospital.
The victim was identified as Armond Fitzgerald Martin of South Los Angeles.
The motive for the shooting appears to be gang related. The gunman and weapon remain outstanding. The gunman was described as having long corn rows and a thin moustache.
