Unintended Shot Fired during Search Warrant
Los Angeles: Detectives from LAPD's Force Investigation Division are investigating the accidental discharge of a gang detective's weapon during the service of a search warrant on the morning of November 30, 2006.
Detectives from the Gang Operations Support Division were serving a search warrant at a house in the 2700 block of Sycamore Avenue in Los Angeles around 7:15 AM.
Detective Jerry Kowalsky, 34, was trying to pry open a cabinet door when he switched his gun to the other hand. One round discharged. No one was injured.
