Celebrate New Year's Eve Safely; Don't Shoot Into the Air When: Thursday, December 28, 2006 9:30 A.M. Where: Los Angeles Police Academy, Elysian Park Athletic Field 1880 N. Academy Drive Who: Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa Police Chief William J. Bratton Sheriff Leroy D. Baca City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo Why: Both the Los Angels Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have joined forces with the Mayor of Los Angeles and the City Attorney to remind everyone not to shoot in the air to celebrate New Year's Eve. A series of public service announcements (PSA) featuring Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa have been supplied to TV stations to publicize this campaign.
