Police Chief Bratton Announces Promotions
Los Angeles: Chief of Police William Bratton today announced the following transfers and promotions of LAPD Command Staff, effective July 1st:
• Commander Kenneth Garner, currently assigned to Personnel Group, has been promoted to Deputy Chief. He will become Commanding Officer of Operations - West Bureau.
• Captain II Richard Webb, currently assigned to Use of Force Division, has been promoted to Commander. He will become Commanding Officer of Professional Standards Bureau (effective October 1st).
• Captain III James Cansler, currently assigned to Planning and Research Division, has been promoted to Commander. He will become Commanding Officer of Personnel Group.
• Captain III Stephen Jacobs, currently assigned to Southeast Division, has been promoted to Commander. He will become Commanding Officer of Operations - South Bureau.
• Captain III Andrew Smith, currently assigned to Central Area, has been promoted to Commander. He will become Commanding Officer of Operations - Central Bureau.
• Lieutenant II Todd Chamberlain, currently assigned to Emergency Services Division, has been promoted to Captain I. He will become Commanding Officer of Hollenbeck Patrol.
• Lieutenant II Kelly Mulldorfer, currently assigned to Office of Operations, has been promoted to Captain I. She will become Commanding Officer of Southeast Patrol.
• Lieutenant II Donald Schwartzer, currently assigned to Use of Force Division, has been promoted to Captain I. He will become Commanding Officer of Southwest Patrol.
• Lieutenant II Phillip Trotter, currently assigned to Valley Bureau, has been promoted to Captain I. He will become Commanding Officer of West Valley Patrol.
• Lieutenant II Michelle Veenstra, Professional Standards Bureau, has been promoted to Captain I. She will become Commanding Officer of Central Patrol.
The following paygrade advancements were announced:
• Captain I Matthew Blake, currently assigned to Southwest Patrol, has been promoted to Captain III. He will become Commanding Officer of West Los Angeles Area.
• Captain II Joseph Hiltner, currently assigned to LAX, has been promoted to Captain III. He will become Commanding Officer of Pacific Area.
• Captain I Phillip Tingirides, currently assigned to Southeast Patrol, has been promoted to Captain III. He will become Commanding Officer of Southeast Area.
• Captain I Joan Wakefield, currently assigned to Central Patrol, has been promoted to Captain III. She will become Commanding Officer of Central Area.
• Captain II Michael Williams, currently assigned to Gang Operations Support Division, has been promoted to Captain III. He will become Commanding Officer of Air Support Division.
• Captain I Bill Eaton, currently assigned to West Valley Area, has been promoted to Captain II. He will become Commanding Officer of LAX.
• Captain I Mark Olvera, currently assigned to Hollenbeck Patrol, has been promoted to Captain II. He will become Commanding Officer of Central Traffic Division.
The following reassignments were also announced:
• Commander Debra McCarthy, currently assigned to South Bureau, has been reassigned as Commander of West Bureau.
• Captain III Carol Aborn-Khoury, currently assigned to West Los Angeles Area, has been reassigned as Commanding Officer of Planning and Research Division.
• Captain III Bill Williams, currently assigned to Pacific Area, has been reassigned as Commanding Officer of Commercial Crimes Division.
• Captain II Regina Scott, currently assigned to Central Traffic Division, has been reassigned as Commanding Officer of Gang Operations Support Division.
• Captain I Ronald Eutsey, currently assigned to Office of Operations, has been reassigned as Commanding Officer of West Los Angeles Patrol.
• Captain I Robert Hauck, currently the Commanding Officer of West Los Angeles Patrol, has been reassigned to the Office of Operations.
