Tamales for Peace

Community Event to Demonstrate Peace in MacArthur Park

Councilmember Ed P. Reyes, First Council District
Chief of Police William J. Bratton, LAPD
Sandi “Mama” Romero, Mama’s Hot Tamales

Why:
Tamales de la Paz (Tamales for Peace) will bring together local businesses, the community, service organizations, police, media and government officials to demonstrate peace, harmony and healing in and around MacArthur Park.

The event will showcase activities that reflect the community’s revitalization, highlight the partnerships with surrounding neighborhoods, including health, safety, educational and social services and treat those in attendance to many types
of Latin American Tamales.
