Mini Bike Driver Dies in Traffic Collision
Los Angeles: 37-year-old, Thomas Martin Jr., a resident of Los Angeles dies in a traffic collision.
Martin was driving a motor driven cycle (commonly known as a mini bike) northbound on Degnan Avenue at Martin Luther King Boulevard when he failed to stop for a red traffic signal light and was struck by an on duty Los Angeles Police Sergeant travelling eastbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard on his police motorcycle.
Martin was ejected into the roadway. The impact of the collision caused Martin to be fatally injured.
Los Angeles Fired Department personnel responded and pronounced Martin dead at the scene.
The LAPD Sergeant was transported to a local hospital and was treated for non life threatening injuries.
