What:
Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement, along with other governmental service providers to dig near a section of the 23 Freeway at the Tierra Rejada overpass in hopes of closing the file on a cold case murder investigation.
When:
Monday, October 6, 2008 for up to ten days
6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where:
Media vehicles and personnel should stage on the Eastbound shoulder of Tierra Rejada facing east on the portion of roadway just west of the 23 Freeway.

Why:
With special assistance from Author and Researcher Weston DeWalt, Detective Vivian Flores has followed numerous leads to a small patch of ground near the 23 Freeway at Tierra Rejada Road. Mack Ray Edwards killed Roger Dale Madison on or about December 14, 1968 and may have buried him while he worked as a bulldozer operator under contract by Caltrans. Edwards was the most prolific serial killer of children in Los Angeles history.
Detective Flores said, “We know there is little chance that we will find remains. But there is also a chance, albeit small, that we will find the remains of Roger Dale Madison and perhaps others.”
