Show Car Taken in Burglary
Value Is Estimated at $150K
Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a stolen high-priced show car and the person(s) responsible for taking it.
On July 7, 2010, between 6 p.m. and about 1:30 a.m. of the following morning, a transmission shop in the 7500 block of Reseda Boulevard was burglarized. Those responsible pried open a garage door, stole a car from inside and drove it away. However, the stolen vehicle is no ordinary car. It’s a customized 1957 Chevy Bel Air in pristine condition valued at $150,000. Features of the red, two-door car, which is well known in the San Fernando Valley and to members of car clubs who preserve and restore classic autos, include a red convertible top and white upholstery.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact LAPD West Valley detectives at 818-335-8217. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.
