Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Collision with Bus NR11160gb
Los Angeles: An elderly male was fatally hit by a Metropolitan Bus Authority (MTA) in West Los Angeles while he was crossing outside of the unmarked crosswalk.
Today, around 1:40 p.m., an MTA bus traveling southbound on Apple Street was negotiating a right turn to westbound Washington Boulevard when it hit a 73-year-old Los Angeles resident who was crossing outside of the unmarked crosswalk.
The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at scene.
The cause of the collision has not been determined and is still under investigation.
The driver was interviewed and released at scene. The pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.
