LA Mayor and LAPD Chief review of 2017 Gun Buyback NA17094jr

City of Los Angeles Announces Results for Anonymous Gun Buyback

WHY:
On May 13, 2017, the public was invited to surrender guns anonymously at any of the two Gun Buyback locations in the city of Los Angeles. Upon surrendering a weapon, a Target gift card, valued at $100, was issued for handguns, shotguns, and rifles and a $200 gift card was issued for assault weapons as classified in the state of California. The citywide Gun Buyback Program is an initiative of the Mayor's Office of Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD). City leaders and LAPD Gun experts will be available to announce results and to answer questions regarding the event.
