LAPD Gun Unit Detectives Seize Scores of Weapons

December 3, 2002

Los Angeles: On November 27, 2002, The Los Angeles Police Department’s Gun Detail detectives made an undercover purchase of a shotgun in the North Hollywood Area of Los Angeles.
The seller of the weapon, Gary Garrow of Burbank, was immediately arrested for unlicensed street sales and booked at the Van Nuys Area Jail.
Serving a search warrant on Garrow’s residence in Burbank, LAPD detectives made a discovery that surprised even the most seasoned officers. Inside Garrow’s home, the investigators recovered over 70 handguns, rifles and shotguns. Several of the weapons were marked with price tags and an examination of seized records indicated that Garrow was actively selling firearms within the State of California.
The weapons seized as a result of this incident will be made available for viewing by the media, upon request.
