Why:
To honor Officer Kerbrat on the 20th Anniversary of her death. Upon graduation from the LAPD Police Academy Officer Kerbrat was assigned to North Hollywood Area Community Police Station to complete her probationary year. She had only been in the field for four months when she was shot and killed by an armed suspect.  She was the first female Los Angeles Police Officer to die in the line of duty.

As a tribute to her life and legacy, the LAPD Women’s Running Team will be competing in her honor during the 27th Annual Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay.
