Los Angeles:
The LAPD is seeking help from the public in identifying the suspect(s) involved in the murder of two men in North Hollywood.

On August 20, 2011, at approximately 1:35 a.m., LAPD North Hollywood patrol officers responded to a shooting in the 8100 block of Coldwater Canyon Boulevard.  The officers arrived on the scene and discovered an unresponsive man in the backyard of a house.  The victim suffered from a single gunshot wound to the head.  LAFD rescue personnel responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.  It was discovered soon after that a second victim was transported earlier to  Kaiser Panorama City Medical Center and was also being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest.  The victim later succumbed to his injury at the hospital.

Detectives say that the two men were shot following an altercation at the party with a suspect(s) described as a male African American.  The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Wilson Pierre of Los Angeles and 19-year-old Deon Bastian of Fontana.  The motive for this crime appears to be gang related.

In addition, a Sony High Definition hand held camcorder was removed from the party which may contain evidence that could be crucial in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for this crime.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the suspect(s) in this case or the location of the camera are being asked to please notify North Hollywood Homicide Detectives Townsend and O’Donnell at 818-623-4075.  Information about the camera can be made anonymously to the detectives.  During non-business hours and weekends, calls may be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be called into Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or by texting 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.”  Online tips may be placed at www.LAPDOnline.org by clicking on “webtips” and following the prompts.
