October 12, 2011

WHAT:
News Conference

WHEN:
Wednesday, October 12, 2011
2:00 p.m.

WHERE:
North Hollywood Area Community Station-Community Room
11640 Burbank Boulevard
North Hollywood,  91601

WHO:
Captain Justin Eisenberg, North Hollywood Commanding Officer
Captain Peter Whittingham, North Hollywood Patrol Captain
Operations Valley Bureau Command Staff Representative
Studio City and North Hollywood-Business Community Members

WHY:
To prevent and greatly reduce the incidence of business robberies by asking patrons to remove their hats helmets and “hoodies” prior to entering commercial establishments.  This action would allow the employees of the business to get a good look at the community members entering the store and allow them to be more secure in the knowledge that the community member is there to conduct business and not commit a crime.  A warning notice will be placed in the window of the local businesses that cater to walk in customers in a highly visible location to allow the customer time to remove their hat, hoodie or helmet prior to entering the location.
