| On November 10, 1993, at 1:30 a.m., Echeverria drove his 1982 Olds Cutlass northbound San Fernando Road in the southbound lanes, and collided with a 1987 Yugo traveling southbound San Fernando Road in the number two lane. The driver of the Yugo sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to USCMC. Echeverria fled the scene in violation of 20001 (A) VC, and has been a fugitive ever since. The driver of the Yugo died as a result of his injuries on November 13, 1993. |
