Deceased Female Discovered in Alley

Los Angeles:  On March 12, 2009, at about 7:50 a.m., a resident in the area telephoned the Northeast Area desk and informed the desk officer that a female appeared to be sleeping in the rear alley of 1160 ½ North Madison Avenue.  The person reporting was concerned that she might be “run over” by vehicles using the alley way.  Northeast Area officers and LAFD personnel responded to the location.  Paramedics determined that the female was deceased.

Northeast Area Homicide and Robbery Homicide detectives responded to the location.  At this time, no cause of death has been determined pending an autopsy by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.  The identity of the deceased female will be withheld pending notification of the deceased’s family members.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Robbery-Homicide Division, Detectives Jay Moberly or Maria Perez, at 213-485-2531.  On weekends and during off-hours, calls may be directed to the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
