Murder in the Venice Area

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Monday, November 9, 1998
On November 9, 1998, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Victim, Eric Kaufman, 23 years old, was standing at 7th Avenue and Brooks Avenue in the Oakwood area of Venice. Two male suspects exited a vehicle and shot him several times in the upper torso. The suspects fled westbound on Brooks Avenue in an unknown type of vehicle.

The motive for this crime appears to be gang related.
