Newton Area Homicide

On Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Sevino Rodriguez, age 28, was involved in an altercation at 48th St. and Central Ave. He was knocked to the ground by an unknown suspect and sustained severe head injuries. He was transported to USCMC by paramedics. He failed to respond to treatment and was pronounced dead from head injuries at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 1999.

The quarrel originated over the victim being asked for change by an unknown male Black of an undetermined age.

No suspect(s) are in custody.
