MULTI-AGENCY TASK FORCE

Why:
Culmination of a several month long City, State and Federal Task Force investigation probing the criminal operation of the Avenues Street Gang.

Federal indictments focused on members of the Drew Street clique of the Avenues Gang, who have a history of drug trafficking, carjacking, home invasion robberies, murders and witness intimidation.

Inclusive in the multi-agency tactical operation plan, which involves the service of multiple search and arrest warrants a “Media Plan” has been developed.

The Media Plan encompasses one field location culminating in a noon time major news conference being organized by the United States Attorney's Office. During the pre-dawn tactical operation, the Media can stage at the corner of Fletcher Drive and Estara Avenue, Northeast Area to cover the operation.

A 12:00 PM news conference will be held at the Downtown Federal Building, 300 North Los Angeles Street, 7th Floor where City, State and Federal Agency head representatives will reveal the results of the 10-month investigation.
