"Traffic Safety Summit-REVISED"

Los Angeles---U.S. Senator Dianne Fienstein and District Attorney Elect Steve Cooley will address numerous elected officials and community members at the 1st Annual Valley Traffic Division Safety Summit to be held on Monday, November 20, 2000. The event will be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at the Airtel Plaza Hotel which is located at Sherman Way and Valjean Avenue in Van Nuys. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Also confirmed to attend the Summit are State Senator Richard Alarcon, and Los Angeles City Councilpersons Laura Chick, Joel Wachs, Cindy Miscekowski, and Mike Feur. Dozens of school officials will also be present. The Summit is designed to educate the public about traffic safety issues as we enter the Holiday Season.

Subjects to be covered include, but not limited to, "Road Rage", "Photo Red Light", "Street Racing", Driving Under the Influence and Child Safety Seats. A seriously injured victim of a DUI traffic collision and emergency room doctor, Dr. Ed Lowder, will also address the audience. There will be static displays that feature equipment from the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

A continental breakfast, complimentary parking and a media reception room will be provided.
