Gang Intervention Through Martial Arts

5th Annual Law Enforcement Youth Martial Arts Tournament

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Jeopardy Youth Program identifies youth who are at risk, or show an inclination toward involvement in criminal and/or gang activities. The objective of this program is to provide active intervention and prevention in the lives of those juveniles, to curb gang recruitment and youth involvement in criminal activities.

The Jeopardy Martial Arts Program has become a major success with our youths. The program is designed to improve self-esteem, self-discipline and self-control.

Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard C. Parks and Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas will be attending the tournament along with officers from Operations-South Bureau.
