Detectives Investigate the Death of a Male Hispanic in Venice


"Detectives Investigate the Shooting Death of a Male Hispanic in Venice"

Venice: On Sunday, November 11, 2001, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the victim, an unknown male Hispanic, approximately 20 years of age, was riding his bike on the sidewalk at 6th Avenue and Brooks Avenue in the Oakwood section of Venice. An unidentified male Hispanic drove up to him and stopped. The suspect exited his vehicle and walked up to the victim and some words were exchanged. The suspect then shot the victim multiple times with an unknown caliber handgun. The suspect then fled westbound on Brooks Avenue in a black vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Pacific Area Homicide Detectives are conducting this investigation. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call Detectives R. Vargas or Inabu at 310-202-4513.
