Rampart Detectives Investigate Homicide

 

Los Angeles: On November 22, 2001 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to a reported ambulance shooting at 738 South Union Avenue. Upon arrival the officers observed the victim down on the sidewalk. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his head. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.

The investigation revealed that two males, described as having shaved heads, approached the victim and started shooting at the victim. After the shooting the suspects were seen getting into a possible white 1980 to 1990 model, 4- door Oldsmobile, with a red stripe on the left side. The suspects drove northbound on Union Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was described as possibly wearing a black football jersey with unknown colored numbering on it.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspects and weapon are outstanding. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
