"Rampart Detectives Investigate the Shooting of a Sixteen Year-old"

 

Los Angeles: On November 23, 2001 at approximately 11:40 PM., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to a reported shooting at 7th Street and Grandview Avenue. Upon arrival, officers saw the victim down on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to USC Medical Center, where he died as the result of his wound.

The investigation revealed witnesses heard gunshots and observed a group of males running southbound from McArthur Park. There was no further description of the suspects.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspects and weapons are outstanding. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
