"Fourteen Year Old Boy Shot And Killed In Gang Related Shooting"

Los Angeles: On November 28, 2003 at 3:35 p.m., a fourteen year old boy was shot and killed in the 400 block of East 49th Street. It appears the suspects drove by in an unknown type of vehicle and fired several rounds from the vehicle. The victim, who had been standing with a group of males and females, was shot and ran a short distance before he collapsed.

The victim was transported to USC Medical Center where he failed to respond to treatment and died as a result of his injuries.

The motive for the shooting has not been established but it appears to be gang related. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of the next of kin.

Newton Homicide Detectives are seeking assistance from the public in solving this crime. Anyone with information is asked to call 323 846-6556. A 24 hour toll free number is available at 1-877-529-3855.
