Los Angeles : The Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are hosting the 111 th Annual International Association of Chief’s of Police (IACP) Law Enforcement Education and Technology Exposition at the Los Angeles Convention Center . This five-day Conference provides delegates with over 40 educational seminars and the world’s largest law enforcement related tradeshow with nearly 1000 exhibitors. Approximately 20,000 to 25,000 delegates, exhibitors and their guests are expected to attend this international event.
On November 13, 2004 , at 8:00 a.m. , there will be a kick off News Conference with Chief William J. Bratton and Sheriff Leroy D. Baca in Room 505 of the West Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center .
In addition to the seminars and trade show, this conference also includes a variety of events, featuring an Opening Ceremony with entertainment and brief comments by local dignitaries. There will be a Host Chief and Sheriff’s Night at Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park , the Hall of Heroes Memorial Service, the largest ever dual law enforcement agency tactical operations capabilities demonstration, numerous golf outings, an annual banquet and a 5K run.
To participate in this event the media is required to provide current press credentials and identification in the form of a Driver’s License or Identification Card. Due to the anticipated attendance, members of the media are asked to RSVP to the Los Angeles Police Department or the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department by November 12, 2004, in person to verify credentials and to pick up a press kit. Those choosing to register after
November 12, 2004 can go directly to the Media Check-in Area, located in the South Hall of the Convention Center, where they can present their credentials and identification, receive their press kit and be given their Conference Access Pass.
Note: Those members of the media choosing to RSVP by November 12, 2004, will still be required to report to the Media Check-in Area upon arrival to the Conference in order to receive their Conference Access Pass. If members of the media do not possess press credentials, then it will be necessary to provide supporting documentation on company letterhead stating such representation on their behalf.
