On November 10, 2005, at about 5:30 PM, the victim, Billy Hearns, was standing on the sidewalk in the 300 block of South Grand Avenue.  A male suspect approached the victim and fired several rounds at the victim.  Hearns was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later from his injuries.

The motive for the shooting is possibly gang related.
