Robbery Suspects Caught on Camera

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Central Robbery Unit is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a market located in the 800 block of West 1st Street downtown.

On October 30, 2005, at about 8:20 PM, three suspects robbed the market, one of them armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The suspects surveyed the market three days earlier, and on the day of the robbery, strategically positioned themselves in different areas of the market. Two of them entered and cased the market as one called the third suspect who was outside. The third suspect entered and robbed the cashier at gunpoint of undisclosed amount of money.

The armed suspect was described as having black hair and an earring in his right ear, wearing a white T-shirt. He was about 5' 10" to 6' tall and weighed 170 to 180 pounds. The second suspect was about 5' 7" to 5' 9", 160 to 170 pounds, black hair and wearing a yellow jacket with writing on the back "event staff". The third suspect was about 6' to 6' 2", 180 to 190 pounds, black hair and wearing a black Nautica shirt and a pendant with a bear's head.

The store's surveillance camera captured the entire incident. Photographs of the suspects can be emailed by contacting Media Relations Section at 213-485-3586.
