Los Angeles: A man was arrested in South Los Angeles who's responsible for killing two persons and disposed the bodies throughout California.
On Wednesday, November 21, 2007, South Bureau homicide detectives were contacted by Fresno County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives regarding a murder investigation they were conducting. On Tuesday, November 20, 2007, the remains of a dismembered body were found near the Interstate 5 Freeway, in rural Fresno County. The Fresno County Coroner's Office was able to establish the victim's identity, which led to the victim's residence in the 1200 block of West 39th Street.
Wednesday, at around 2:30 p.m., Detectives from Fresno County and LAPD's South Bureau Homicide Unit went to the victim 's residence to conduct a follow up investigation. As the detectives knocked on the front door, a man jumped from a second floor window and ran away from detectives. He was captured a block away.
The detectives' investigation revealed evidence of murder inside the residence. The person who ran from the location has been identified as 33-year-old Mulushewa Tebedge. He was placed under arrest for murder with the bail set at one million dollars.
During the interview of Tebedge, the detectives learned of a second victim. The body of the second victim was located off of the 101 Freeway in Santa Barbara County.
The motive for the double murder is still under investigation. The victims are 76-year-old man and 33-year-old woman. Their names are being withheld pending notification.
