Suspect Arrested for the Murder of a Family Member NR10547cj

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Devonshire area detectives have arrested a man for the murder of his nephew in the Winnetka area.

On Nov. 19, 2010, at 2:15 p.m. Devonshire Area patrol officers, responded to a shooting call in the 8300 block of Lurline Avenue. When the officers arrived, they found a male Hispanic, lying unconscious on the floor, suffering from a gunshot wound. LA City Fire Department rescue personnel responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The man was identified at the scene as 33-year-old Wilmer Geovani Flores.

Devonshire homicide detectives’ investigation identified the suspect as 52-year-old Julio Cesar Garcia Flores, the victim’s uncle. Based upon the investigation, the detectives found that Julio Flores pointed a loaded shotgun and fired it at Wilmer Flores, killing him. The suspect ran from the location after the shooting.

Detectives followed several leads as to the whereabouts of the suspect. On Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at 6 p.m., Julio Flores was found in the Hollywood Area, where he was arrested for 187 P.C. Murder. Devonshire detectives will present the investigation to the District Attorney’s office for filing of criminal charges.
