Victim Dies While Other Victim is Injured NR11541rh

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Rampart Homicide Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect (s) who killed 22-year-old Jose Villa in the Los Angeles area.

On November 18, 2011, around 8 p.m., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to two separate radio calls, first was an ambulance assault with a deadly weapon in the 2400 block of Temple Street and the second was an ambulance man down in the 400 block of Coronado Terrace. When the officers arrived at each location they found a victim with multiple stab wounds.  Both victims were determined to be gang members.

The Los Angeles City Fire paramedics transported both victims to a local hospital.  Villa died a short time later due to his injuries.  The second victim is in stable condition.

The suspect(s) are described as male(s) Hispanic(s) between the ages of 25-28-years-old.

The motive is gang related.  The suspects and weapon are still outstanding.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact Rampart Homicide Detective John Motto at 213-484-3641.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
