WHY:
LAPD Topanga Area is proud to present the ribbon cutting ceremony of Topanga Area’s PAL Youth Center in honor of our youth.  Topanga Area’s vision of helping their youth has been a continued endeavor and it has been proven with this year’s annual golf tournament where approximately 125 participants attended and raised money for its youth programs.

This year’s grand opening of Topanga Youth Center will proudly present Co- Chairs and Founders of Grab A Ball & Play Foundation, Marnie Schneider, granddaughter of former Philadelphia Eagles owner Leonard Tose and Football Team in Philadelphia for 20 years, and her partner, Jazmin Erving, daughter of NBA Legend Julius Erving.

Their mission, to help children in underserved communities; helping them to be the future team leaders given the opportunity to play.  Grab A Ball and Play will be at the event providing a ball to every child enrolled in the Topanga’s PAL program (www.grababallandplay.org).

Other originations to attend will be Los Angeles Mayor, Eric Garcettii’s United Solutions GRYD Program.  Developed in 2007 by the Mayor’s Office, this gang intervention program was created using a neighborhood approach in high-risk gang crime areas.

New York Life, working with the communities throughout the nation and believing in child safety & protection, will be providing children with photo ID’s to promote child safety.  Also participating and helping the community will be Angel Smile Dental Group, providing free dental check-ups and dental discounts.  Please join us in this grand celebration and a fun-filled afternoon of games and activities!
