Why: LAPD Assistant Chief Beatrice Girmala will share two exciting events; one of which kicks off this weekend.

On Saturday, November 19, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., S.W.A.T. officers will be at The Beverly Connection, 100 N. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, collecting toys to benefit over 2,000 children who attend the annual Orthopaedic Institute for Children Holiday Party on December 7, 2016. Help us Fill-the-BEAR (Ballistic Engineered Armored Response) vehicle with new, unwrapped toys for this worthy event.

On Sunday, November 27, 2016, Police Officers Kristina Tudor and Joe Cirrito will begin their run from Elysian Park Police Academy in Los Angeles with a final destination to the State Capital in Sacramento. Officers Tudor and Cirrito will be running in their full police uniforms. They are running to raise funds and awareness for police officers who have been killed in the line of duty and their loved ones.
