VTD Fatal Hit and Run Invest

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, October 21, 1998

VALLEY TRAFFIC DIVISION
Fatal Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision

On Tuesday, October 20, 1998 at 6:25 a.m., Soltan Netaneli was in the east cross walk of Newcastle Avenue crossing northbound Ventura Boulevard, when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound. Her body came to rest west of the west cross walk on Ventura Boulevard. She was ultimately transported to the Tarzana Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The investigators at the scene seized pieces of the car that hit the victim. On these pieces of the car, a parts number was located and through the assistance of an auto dealership, the year, make, and model of the vehicle involved in this crime was determined.

The vehicle being sought in this Fatal Hit & Run accident is possibly a 1980-81, Chevrolet, Malibu or Malibu Classic, 2dr or 4dr, white or light colored. The vehicle has sustained damage to the left front grill and headlight area. The vehicle is missing the left front marker light and possibly all of or most of the left front headlight and part of the grill. It is also possible that the vehicle has windshield damage.

No further information available at this time.

Anyone with information on a vehicle matching this description can contact Detectives Jim Deaton and Dwight Gillett, Valley Traffic Division at 818-756-8391.
