Deceased Male Found in Disabled Vehicle on Freeway

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Friday, October 22, 1999

On Wednesday, October 20, 1999, at approximately 2:30 PM, a state operated roadside assistance vehicle noticed a disabled vehicle on the eastbound 105 freeway just east of Vermont Avenue. The tow truck driver walked over to the vehicle and discovered that the driver was apparently deceased. CHP and LAPD Southeast Area Patrol officers responded and secured the scene. The investigation revealed that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Southeast Area Homicide detectives are handling the investigation.

The victim is described as a male African American approximately 25 to 30 years old. The identity is being withheld pending family notification.
