Man Discovered Dead in Vehicle

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, October 12, 1999

On Monday, October 11, 1999 at approximately 9:20 a.m., the body of Michael T. Stewart a male, Black, 24 years of age, was found by witnesses inside a vehicle which was parked in an alley behind the 3200 block of West Jefferson Boulevard. The preliminary investigation revealed that Stewart had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso. LAFD Rescue Ambulance responded and Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle in which Stewart was found is described as 1999 Plymouth Neon, 4-door and Green in color.

The motive for this incident is unknown and is being investigated by LAPD Southwest Area Homicide Detectives.
